The Aftermath of the 2020 Election (2020-Present)

Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election by over 70,000,000 votes and 74 votes in the Electoral College. Even before the election, Donald Trump cast doubt on the legitimacy of the results. After the election, he refused to concede (even to this day). He claimed he won swing states like Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin by large margins. Republicans filed over 60 lawsuits challenging the results. Trump lost every one of them. With only minor voter fraud (none of which would have changed the results), it was the most secure election the United States has ever had.

Trump’s continued promotion of what has come to be known as “The Big Lie” resulted in the January 6th insurrection at the US Capitol. The House committee investigating the attempted coup has shown, through the testimony of fellow Republicans, Trump’s and his team’s culpability in overturning the election results and putting law enforcement, rioters, Congress, and the Vice President in mortal jeopardy.

This has been a period of “poly crises.” The Pandemic continued, mass shootings went unabated, and the Supreme Court’s controversial decisions rocked our nation. These posters comment on this historic period.
